We love webinars and the internet because we believe that these tools provide a means for making personal connections with people around the world. It is our hope, that reaching out through the web will bring us greater understanding and tolerance for the various the cultures of the world.
We believe that supporting educational efforts for the children, specifically, the girls of the world's poorest nations can have a positive affect on the future of our ever shrinking world. We also believe that helping people help themselves through micro-finance is the best way to ensure long-term change in poverty stricken nations. Our focus is on supporting organizations that that foster the ability to learn and that empower families to hope for a brighter future.
We set aside a portion of our profits and divide the proceeds equally among the following organizations:
Room To Read- Girls' Scholarship Program
This program has an immediate and direct impact on the lives of thousands of girls in the developing world. An education provides security and support to girls who often grow up in very uncertain environments and empowers them to make informed life decisions. A solid education beginning in the early years is the key ingredient for improved status for women, which provides a ripple of positive effects throughout society.
Global Partnerships
Today half of the world’s population lives on less than $2 a day, and more than 1 billion people live on less than $1 a day. Global Partnerships believes that poverty is at the root of some of the world’s greatest challenges. And believes that those living in poverty can lift themselves and their families from it, if they are given the chance to do so.
Of the 540 million poor people who would benefit from access to microfinance, only a small fraction are being served. Global Partnerships is one of a handful of organizations that are leading the innovation necessary to dramatically expand global access to microfinance. Strategies like our microfinance funds, which leverage philanthropic giving with the investment of socially motivated private capital, enable our partner institutions to accelerate growth and expand the reach of microfinance so that millions more people can be served.
